Charity quilt

A quilt completed over the summer for donation.

General InformationThe Norfolk County Quilters Guild has many ways of contributing to the community in our area. As part of our monthly activities the Community project committee encourages members wishing to learn new techniques to join in on the morning of our regular meeting day to make quilts or other projects which are distributed to different organizations. Some of the recipients are the Womens Shelter, the local Children’s Aid Society, Union House, Meals On Wheels or wherever they are needed.  Many generous members also donate quilts made on their own time, using their own materials. A guideline of sizes for quilts is as follows.

Preemies     18″ x 25″ or 25″ square

Newborn      25″ x 40″

Toddler       35″ x 45″

Child/Youth   40″ x 60″

Placemat size:  14″ x 18″

In 2020 the Community Services are asking that instead of toiletry donations, gift cards would be greatly appreciated.  This is to limit the possibility of Covid transmission.
